My first career was in HR, then I was introduced to homeopathy at a short Homeopathic First Aid course while living in Worcestershire. I was intrigued by this approach to health and the little box of everyday medicines which could help manage a cold, soothe a headache, remove indigestion with different medicines depending on the particular person. I undertook the 4 year part time training at the Midlands College of Practical Homeopathy, graduating in 1996 (LCPH) and went on to establish a busy homeopathic practice in Evesham, Pershore and Worcester where I worked for 6 years.
In 2002 a move to Somerset allowed me to undertake additional training in counselling. After initial courses at Somerset College in Counselling Skills and Studies, I completed a Higher Diploma in Counselling Practice at Bridgwater College 2011. I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and I work according to their code of ethics. This includes having regular supervision with an experienced colleague to ensure that my work with clients is of a professional standard.
I work with adult clients over the age of 18.
My personal approach to counselling is built on the Integrative model of my training at Bridgwater College. This allows me to tailor my approach to the needs of the client and adapt as necessary. I am happy to talk further about my approach if you feel it would be helpful to you.
